Solar Heating System Applications:
· Hot Tube Coil (screws into your existing immersion heater flange). This is not the most efficient way to use the sun’s energy due to the heating coil been located at the top of the cylinder but is a cheap option depending on individual requirements.
· Twin Coil Cylinder – This is the most common heating system.
· Pre-Heat Tank – A storage cylinder can be located above your existing storage tank usually located in the loft area, this then is linked into the feed to your existing storage cylinder with an option to tie directly into your hot water supply using a 3 –way motorized valve to divert the supply at a pre-determined temperature.
· Swimming Pool Applications – Collector Panel area sizing will be based on 25% of the surface area of the pool, the circulation loop will pass through a Solar Heat Exchanger this is manufactured from Stainless Steel to prevent corrosion due to the Chlorine in the water. This system can also be linked into you existing hot water supply.
· Commercial Solar Water Heating Systems – A series of collector panels and storage cylinders can be linked together to provide substantial hot water supply for communal usage. |
The Evacuated Solar Tube Collector
Introducing the Evacuated Solar Tube Collector, if you have just purchased or are in the process of researching before you buy, you have taken an important step to reducing the pollution and Carbon Dioxide emission yet still enjoy the luxury of heating your hot water by nature. This heating system has recently been used on the BBC tv programme “It’s not easy being green”.
If you buy one of our systems, the collector will provide you with many years of service with the minimum of maintenance. Heating your water via the sun’s energy.
Collector details:
The collector consists of the array of tubes, a heavily insulated manifold header, stainless steel support frame complete with mounting straps. Additional support frames can be manufactured to carry the panels depending on each individual application, usually these are used on Commercial Buildings or for floor mounting assemblies which are generally used on swimming pool applications. For domestic purposes usually the panel is fitted directly onto the roof and secured through the roof tiles using the stainless steel straps which in turn are fastened to the wooden roof beams located within the loft.
Sizing of the panel is based on the heating capacity requirement, for general domestic usage a 20 Tube system will heat efficiently between 140 – 160 litres of water.
These panels can also be linked together, up to 5 assemblies in one loop if the specific requirement was needed.
All our collector systems are manufactured to BS EN12975 standard.
