Solar Thermal Systems: Your Options
Solar Thermal Systems: Your Options
At A E Solar Systems, we have a wide range of solar thermal solutions in order to ensure that your requirements are met. Moreover, we do it all for you so you can just relax. But, we surely don’t mind if you want to get involved in this wonderful process.
So, when it comes to Solar Thermal Energy Systems, one of the two solar panel types might be suitable for your home or office i.e. evacuated tubes or flat collector solar panels. Based on our experience of the UK market and UK homes, we have created the following solutions and we help you pick and choose the best solution for your home:
Basic installation Package
The 15 - 58mm tube collector system on a south facing orientation is ideal for 2 - 3 people, this comes complete with a 150 litre solar storage tank which can be either single or dual coil depending on its intended application.
Basic East / West installation package
2 x 15 - 58mm collectors will be required for this particular application - one mounted on the east side of the roof and one on the west. This system operates very well because at least one of the panels absorbs the sunlight all day round, particularly more efficient during the winter months with less daylight hours. With this system the storage capacity can be increased to 170 litres.
Medium installation Package
The 20 - 58mm tube collector system is suitable for up to 4 people; this comes complete with a 210-ltr solar storage tank.
Medium East / West installation package
2 x 20 - 58mm collectors will be required for this particular application. With this system the storage capacity can be increased to 255 litres.
Premium installation package
The 30 - 58mm tube collector system is suitable for up to 6 people; this comes complete with a 305-litre solar storage tank.
Premium East / West installation package
2 x 30 - 58mm collectors will be required for this particular application. With this system the storage capacity can be increased to 380 litres.
All the above can be used in conjunction with the following:
- Vented systems - Gravity fed hot water
- Unvented systems - Mains pressure hot water
They can also be used with the following system applications:
- • Twin coil cylinder - this is the most common and efficient heating system.
- • Pre-heat tank - A storage cylinder can be located above your existing tank usually located in the loft area.
- • Combi-boiler system - This can be applied in a number of ways dependant on the individuals current system layout.
- • Swimming pool application - The collectors are sized accordingly to suit the size of the pool, a solar heat exchanger is installed alongside your existing backup heating that is specifically designed for this application and is manufactured from stainless steel to prevent corrosion due to the chemicals in the water. This system can also be linked into your existing hot water system if required.
Commercial water heating systems:
A series of collectors and storage cylinders can be linked together to provide a substantial hot water supply for commercial usage.
